Ford Motor Company is an American multinational automobile manufacturer. They’re headquartered in Dearborn, Michigan. They’re the maker and seller of the Ford-150 which is a pick-up truck.
The APIM, also known as the Accessory Protocol Interface Module, a part of navigation in the Ford-150, has many defects. The issues involved include a no GPS sign on the navigation panel, a lag in keeping up with truck movement, and a system that doesn’t respond to screen-tapping.
These problems have been happening for years, and Ford extended its warranty for the APIM to five years back in 2014. However, customers continue to have APIM issues even after multiple attempts at repair. The cost to fix this issue can vary depending on what the dealership says, but the issue seems to cost around $900.00 to fix. There was a similar class action lawsuit against BMW. The lawsuit accuses BMW of failing to warn consumers about a faulty navigation system in its 2012 and 2013 vehicles.
