Several Ford customers report their vehicles’ headlights are extremely dim, and even replacing the bulbs seems to make no difference for affected customers, indicating a deeper problem with the headlight components of the vehicles. While new bulbs cost as little as $300-$400, replacements of the entire headlight assembly are substantially more expensive, and can cost thousands of dollars.
The issue appears to affect the 1999-200x F-150 2007 Focus, the 2009 Crown Victoria, the 2010, 2015, and 2016 Transit Connect, the 2012-2014 Fiesta, the 2014 Taurus, the 2013-2014 Fusion, the 2018 Edge, the 2018-2019 Fiesta, and likely other models as well.
Nissan settled a similar lawsuit in 2021 over allegations that Nissan’s 2013-2018 Altima headlights are similarly defectively dim.
