Android devices using Qualcomm and MediaTek chips are subject to a major security vulnerability that allows hackers to commandeer users’ devices.

A security research outfit named Check Point disclosed a major security vulnerability potentially affecting 2/3 of the world’s Android devices in mid-April 2022. This vulnerability is specifically with an outdated version of an audio coding format used in android devices with Qualcomm and MediaTek chips.

Google faced a similar lawsuit in 2021 around a data breach of Google+ users’ location data.
