Spectrum is not pro-rating customers’ final bills, despite ending service on the day of cancellation.

Spectrum is canceling the service on the day that cancellation is requested, but still charging for the remainder of the month, as opposed to allowing users to continue using the service through the end of the month. Spectrum does not prorate the bill as of the date of cancellation.

This policy is laid out in Spectrum’s terms & conditions, which also includes a mandatory class action waiver, a binding arbitration provision subject to a 30-day opt out period, and a waiver of all claims more than one year old.

A similar class action lawsuit was filed against Michigan fitness center Family Fitness in 2017, who told customers that they remain responsible for the entire cost of membership even after canceling.
