BlendJet’s BlendJet 2 portable blender’s battery is degrading to an unusable level shortly after purchase, in breach of the implied warranty of merchantability. Customers likely have a claim for defective design.
Despite representing that the blender’s battery life will last 15 blend cycles on full charge, several users are reporting that BlendJet’s BlendJet 2 portable blender is only working for 6 blend cycles before the battery dies, too few cycles to blend many things.
BlendJet does not seem to be acknowledging the existence of any widespread problem, and their customer support team gaslights consumers into believing that they are not experiencing the issues that they report by accusing them of miscounting the blend cycles.
BlendJet appears to be offering to replace some of the dysfunctional blenders, though some customers report experiencing the same issue on the replacement blenders that they have been sent.
BlendJet’s return policy says that it will replace damaged or defective products if returned within 30 days of purchase.
Similar defective consumer appliance class actions have been filed against Whirlpool, Samsung, and KitchenAid, among others.
