OG10kTech sells custom-built computers and accessories, including hardware accessories necessary for crypto-mining and for which there have been supply shortages.
Customers claim that they order products from the OG10kTech website and never receive them. Some customers have never received as much as $42,000 worth of products. When customers request a refund, the company tells them to dispute the charge on their credit card to get their money back faster.
When the website loads, it warns customers “Don’t order unless you understand wait times: The average wait time for all GPU orders is 120 days, please do not order if you do not understand this… As of 9/19/2021 there will be no refunds offered on GPU sales…” It is unclear when OG10kTech added this warning.
Thirty complaints have already been filed with the Better Business Bureau against OG10kTech. The company’s majority stockholder William D. Taylor has also faced legal issues for business scams in the past. (United States v. Taylor, Case No. 2:12-CR-218 (S.D. Ohio Jun. 26, 2013; United States v. Taylor, Case No. 13-4435 (6th Cir. Dec. 01, 2014)).
Ivory Paper faced similar criticism for taking orders and never delivering the products or delivering them at a much later date. The company settled with the Ohio Attorney General. The settlement required Ivory Paper to issue full refunds to customers whose orders were never shipped or were shipped at least eight weeks after the order was made.
