Acer’s Swift 3 laptop is being sold with a defective display which stops working when the laptop hinge is at certain angles.

Several users are experiencing an issue with Acer’s Swift 3 laptop (model SF314-55g) where their laptop display will turn completely white, white with grey lines, or glowing black when the laptop hinge is positioned at certain angles within its normal range of motion. Users may have claims for defective design.

Apple faced a similar lawsuit in 2021 regarding the screen of their M1 Macbook laptop, whose screen was alleged to be defective and exceedingly fragile.

Acer’s Swift 3 laptop’s warranty agreement is a 1 year limited warranty which includes mandatory binding arbitration.
