The USB-C charging port for the HP Spectre laptops, especially the HP Spectre x360, aren’t working. The loose fit causes the USB-C connector to randomly lose connection. As a result, customers cannot charge the device to use it. The HP Spectre x360 comes with a standard one-year warranty, but customers can add on a care pack that provides an enhanced level of support and/or an extended period of coverage for the HP hardware. However, it doesn’t seem like this problem is covered under warranty.
If HP denies the warranty claim, customers have to pay for a replacement charging port which can cost around $16 dollars. Customers also must pay $400+ to fix the interior problem.
There was a similar class action lawsuit against Apple. The lawsuit states Apple has to replace Mag-Safe T-shaped chargers because they fray easily.
