HP VR Headset customers experience connectivity issues

The HP Reverb G2 is a virtual reality headset made by HP Inc.

Customers have reported issues with the USB port on the device. For some, the USB port on the device stops working after months of working. When these customers use a USB port to plug into the device, they see an error: “Error 4-1: Make sure the USB cable is plugged into the SuperSpeed USB 3.0 port.” Others claim that the USB port on their brand new HP Reverb’s don’t work. Customers this that this is a software issue because some have been able to resolve the USB port issue by downgrading the PCIE.

HP has not formally addressed the issue. In response to the complaints, HP offers troubleshooting guides. If those do not work then HP advises customers to buy a new USB cord for the headset, but it still has not resolved their problems.

Without the ability to connect the headset to their laptops, the product is unsuitable for its intended purpose.
