Several LG OLED TV screens have been delivered with a noticeable pink/magenta tint on the display. Apparently, the issue is related to a certain type of panel, the Evo Panel, LG’s new, brighter version of the conventional OLED display. Apparently, LG’s response has been to tell some customers that this pink tint is a normal (though not advertised) feature of these panels, and therefore does not warrant replacement.
Affected models include the LG CX 65”, the LG B9, the LG C1 65”, and the LG C1 48”. In 2021, Samsung settled a similar class action lawsuit against it for defective plasma TVs, in which red lines allegedly appeared erroneously throughout the screen, and the company’s alleged failure to provide replacement TVs to affected customers.
